Quality, Safety, and Accreditation Working Group for PMU Teaching Hospital

TIEC’s Healthcare Quality, Safety, and Accreditation Experts Provide Strategic Guidance on PMU Teaching Hospital Project in Saudi Arabia

TIEC is collaborating with medical experts across the U.S. to advise the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU) Teaching Hospital Project Plan. The future hospital will offer the highest quality healthcare services for the local population in the Eastern Province while simultaneously serving as a national and international destination for education, research, and healthcare.

The Quality, Safety, and Accreditation (QSA) Working Group members have extensive and distinguished experience in the medical field. They are working together to develop an exceptional QSA plan to enable the PMU Teaching Hospital to be a first-class medical facility.

Jewel Mullen (Chair)

Jewel Mullen, MD, MPH, Associate Dean for Health Equity at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, is a widely admired medical and public health expert. Mullen will serve as Chair of the Quality, Safety, and Accreditation (QSA) Working Group on this project. She is an internist, epidemiologist, public health physician leader, and the former principal deputy assistant secretary for health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Mullen also directs Health Equity and Quality for Central Health of Travis County, Texas.

Board-certified in internal medicine, Mullen received her bachelor’s degree and Master of Public Health from Yale University, where she also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psychosocial epidemiology. She graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Audrey Tolouian

Audrey Tolouain, EdD, MSN, is currently Medical Science Liaison for Sanofi, a global healthcare company. She was previously Associate Clinical Professor of Nursing at the University of Texas at El Paso and has over 25 years of experience in the medical field. Tolouian earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Trinity College, a Master of Science in Nursing degree, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.

Matt Ronan

Matt Ronan, MD, is a board-certified Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System internist, instructor, and adjunct faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. Ronan received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of the Holy Cross.
