TIEC connected The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s (UTRGV) new online Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Spanish program with Colombia’s major public lending institution for higher education: the Institute for Student Loans and Technical Studies Abroad (ICETEX)
TIEC(AUSTIN, TX - June 22, 2020) — TIEC brings awareness of our Texas member universities’ programs and capabilities to a broader global audience. In that vein, TIEC connected The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s (UTRGV) new online Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Spanish program with Colombia’s major public lending institution for higher education: the Institute for Student Loans and Technical Studies Abroad (ICETEX). Thanks to the partnership, students living in Colombia can attend UTRGV’s online Spanish MBA program while financing their education through ICETEX.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for high quality, online graduate programs is greater than ever,” said Robin J. Lerner, TIEC’s president and CEO. “UTRGV has built on its strong business programs to offer students a unique opportunity among U.S. universities and colleges: an entirely Spanish-language MBA program. The program was designed from the ground up with the intention of being completely online.
“TIEC is proud to help extend the reach of UTRGV’s Online Spanish MBA program to students in Colombia — particularly at a time when students around the world are looking to further their career goals, even while many campuses aren’t able to offer in-person classes,” said Lerner.
The program offers students a competitive MBA program that can be completed in as little as 12 months. Through the partnership with TIEC, Colombian students applying are eligible to waive the application and processing fees, as well as participate in a two-week in-person component at UTRGV.
“We are excited about this collaboration with TIEC and ICETEX in bringing our new MBA in Spanish program to Colombian students,” said Parwinder S. Grewal, Executive Vice President for Research, Graduate Studies and New Program Development at UTRGV. “We are looking forward to supporting the Colombian students in their pursuit for acquiring this AACSB accredited MBA degree and improving their career prospects,” said Grewal.
