Oversees the day-to-day management of TIEC's international programs, specifically those focused on funded programs.
The Program Manager supports the department by performing high level administrative, coordinative, and operational work tasks. The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day management of the Texas International Education Consortium’s (TIEC) international programs, specifically those focused on TIEC’s funded programs. These duties include, but are not limited to, providing leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of effective, quality higher education capacity-building and people-to-people exchange programs. For this position, the qualities such as project management experience, organizational excellence, and leadership are critical. The Program Manager also collaborates on proposal development to ensure strategic and careful preparation from program inception through all stages of implementation as well as program close out. The Program Manager will be responsible for multiple concurrent programs and has a critical responsibility in ensuring that all programs are delivered efficiently, professionally, with the highest standards of quality, and with content that meets industry best practices. The Program Manager oversees program coordinator(s) and leads in planning, designing, and evaluating content using multiple modalities including online, instructor-led, virtual training, and any hybrid, in-person or other means of content delivery deemed best for program specific needs. The Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Programs.
• Manage the allocation of programmatic budget resources
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with participants, partners, and stakeholders
• Contribute to instructional resources, including monitoring subject matter experts who develop program specific materials
• Conduct the stewarding, tracking and implementing multiple grants and projects, working closely with the programs team and designated staff to execute activities
• Execute and/or oversee administrative duties, such as writing plans and reports
• Draft detailed reports on assigned programs, the progress made on each objective, and the overall goals.; monitor any contractors assisting with reporting, program evaluation, or data collection
• Implement current and new policy and procedures to ensure smooth, transparent, and efficient implementation of programs
• Execute and delegate the logistics for public and private events, both virtually and in-person
• Collaborate on program’s related social media content and broader communications efforts and contribute to the development of the marketing and brand strategy
• Provide guidance and serve as a leader to program staff; provide staff with direction regarding program goals, materials, methodology, and best practices
• Delegate tasks to ensure efficiency to junior staff, including program coordinator(s) and intern(s)
• Research and identify new funding opportunities
• Support the development of proposals by reviewing funding opportunities, conducting research, and contributing to the writing of the proposal
• Support the program’s content and design development through providing strategic collaborative design and development of new programming
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. management, international development/relations, business administration); candidates holding a bachelor’s degree will be considered if additional years of demonstrated experience are included
• At least 7 years of demonstrated project management success, 4 of which include demonstrated experience in grant implementation
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Smartsheet) and Google Suite
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate and delegate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Also preferred:
• Experience working with international populations, companies, and/or institutions
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
• Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS)
TIEC operates a hybrid work environment out of Austin, Texas, including up to 3 days per week of in-person work required. The ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, including some work required during weekends or evenings on a case-by-case basis. This position has a starting salary of $70,000-$75,000 annually. Full benefits include paid annual leave, sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, and 403(b) retirement options are available.
