MODULE 1: GENDER BIAS AND NEGOTIATION STRATEGIES

This module, designed specifically for women in leadership, challenges students to evaluate their negotiation style through the lenses of gender and power and use their emotional intelligence to tailor their style to any situation. As women in leadership, they face increased responsibilities and increased obstacles when negotiating, due to women having lower perceived status and power than men. Topics will include negotiation styles, power, bias, capitalizing on strengths, creating impactful outcomes as a female negotiator, winning strategies for negotiations, and achieving organizational support.

MODULE 2: CREATING STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

In this module, students will explore strategies to become a more effective leader by focusing on who they are and how they work with others, while also learning how to maximize growth and productivity within their business. Students will leave this module having taken steps forward on their path to becoming a strategic leader. Topics will include increasing your level of contribution, aligning capabilities with strategy, and developing vision and innovation.

MODULE 3: COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES FOR WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

This module will discuss the fundamental differences in the ways women and men think, and how these differences influence the ways men and women communicate regarding job commitment, managerial expertise, leadership, and many other promotion-related competencies. Topics will include gendered patterns of verbal and nonverbal communication styles, the language of exclusion and inclusion, stereotypes versus worthy differences, identifying and changing dysfunctional communication patterns, speaking at meetings and being heard, the language of leadership, gendered rituals: power plays and displays, collaborative advantage: usefulness of women’s style to organizational problems and possibilities.
